Providing content for sale online is an easy way to make money off of your website. Whether its software, e-books, or other content, digital products don’t need to be restocked and can be sold at any time of the day or night. Unfortunately, producing high-quality content on your own can be a difficult and time-consuming task. At the same time, some people do not like the idea of selling content on their websites which has obviously been created by someone else. If the content has been purchased with private label rights, however, this is not an issue because it can be edited and rebranded as needed to fit your needs.
Private label rights allow individuals who have purchased software, e-books, or other media to make changes to the title, author, or even the contents of the software or media as needed. This grants the purchaser a considerable amount of power over the content that they purchase, allowing them to change its title and original creator or to make any other changes that they desire. Additions can be made to the content, sections can be removed, and the final product can be as similar to or different from the original as the rights holder chooses.
It’s important to note that private label rights do not bestow a copyright to the work, and in most cases they do not confer distribution or resale rights. A majority of sellers who offer private label rights offer them in conjunction with some form of distribution rights, allowing the purchaser to freely sell the edited product. Private label rights pair especially well with master resale rights, as these rights grant the purchaser full control over the sale of the software or content and can even be passed along to future purchasers.
Buying software, e-books, or other content with private label rights allows you to make whatever changes that you deem necessary to the work that you have purchased. This can allow you to create custom content that is exclusive for your customers, to add personalized introductions to e-books and software, or to rebrand an existing software or e-book product to bear your name or company information. Private label rights are designed to give you total control over the content itself, pairing well with master resale rights which grant you total control over the sale and distribution of the software or other content that you’ve purchased.
