Loading... Please wait...Google, MSN & Bing dislike duplicate content.
That's why we created Duplicate Check. Duplicate Check is a php based program that you upload to your web site and run right through your web browser. You also have the option of selecting which file types you wish to examine (.txt, .htm, or .html).
Most people who don't know that when a major search engine finds duplicate content on their web site, you get penalized. Getting penalized by these search engines means you drop in rankings, lose visitors and can even lose sales.
What is duplicate content?
Duplicate content can be two web pages on your web site with a certain percentage of the same content. You may have the same article or content page with different URL's such as support.html and newsupport.html having a 75% content match on both pages.
What does Duplicate Check do?
Duplicate Check spiders your web site and lists your URL's along with a percentage of closely matched content pages. Based on the report, you can modify your pages so the major search engines won't penalize you for duplicate content.
The Summary Report table shows the results of Duplicate Check as they are found.
The summary report table consists of three main areas.
The source file that was used when a high probability was found that there was duplicate content in another file.
The second is the file that was identified as having content that matched the original file.
The third area is the probability that content exists in the file that is being compared.
Duplicate Check will show you only files that have a probability of higher or equal to 70%.
It has been rumored that this is the threshold that Google uses when determining duplicate content.
Example:
Summary Report (1)/home/username/website/Mating calls of Sparrows.html
(2)/home/username/website/Sparrow Mating Calls.html (3) 97%
